The Edwards family has been farming and producing merino sheep in the Wellington district for over 100 years. Riding every high and low over the past century has engrained a deep passion for breeding merino sheep that remain profitable into the future.

Stewart and Anne Edwards, alongside Stew’s parents Richard (Dick) and Maree Edwards operated a mixed family farming business before sons Max and Hugh got involved, increasing scale to now join around 5000 commercial merino ewes annually across several properties.

Purchasing GullenGamble Poll Merinos in 2021from the Kerin family, the Edwards’ and their families were eager to continue the advancement of the stud with a strong emphasis on providing commercial benefits to their existing operations as well as to existing and future stud clients.

Max manages the stud operations and genetic direction of the breeding program. Data collection, analysis and implementation are his forte. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (1st class honours) majoring in new and emerging technologies, sheep reproduction and genetics, Max gained further industry experience including working with multiple studs across NSW.

Stewart combines a wealth of experience and an innovative approach to farming systems across all farming operations, with an unwavering passion for improvement and development.

Hugh brings his skills and knowledge as a licenced stock and station agent and provides valuable market and production advice, with a robust consumer benefit focus.
